This wine comes from a selection of vineyards in Ribera del Duero, with an average age of 35 years. The soils are clay-limestone, stony and of low fertility, which results in grapes of high quality and concentration.
The grapes were harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripeness. The grapes were de-stemmed and macerated for three days at a temperature of 12ºC. Subsequently, they were fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation also took place spontaneously at a low temperature.
The resulting wine has a deep cherry red colour with a ruby rim. On the nose, the aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as cassis, blackcurrant, blackberry and plum stand out.
There are also spicy nuances from the French oak, such as coconut and vanilla. In addition, there is a marked aroma of liquorice, characteristic of the grape variety used.
On the palate, the wine is full, fresh, balanced and silky. It has a great structure and power, with sweet and smooth tannins. The finish is long and full of aromas and flavours.
